Write a story that moves people.

Are you a nice human who dreams of writing and publishing stories that enact wider change? I’m a nice human who loves supporting people and nonprofits on that storytelling journey.

I give each client my all. I know we’re really grooving when each person feels motivated and nourished by a clear, exciting vision, ample feedback, and a shared belief that the stories we tell–and the stories we amplify–shape the world.

1. The Editor’s Garden: A 6-week editing journey with a dedicated cohort

Edit with confidence and grow your writing community–at the same time.

Everyone has a different editing style that works for them. Dedicate six weeks to discovering and implementing your unique approach, gaining fresh perspectives, and connecting with other writers.

Each week, you will:

  1. Learn a new, fundamental principle of developmental editing (think β€œbig picture” changes to your manuscript).

  2. Witness a β€œlive editing” session led by me.

  3. Apply your fresh insight to your latest draft.

  4. Ask each other and myself urgent editing questions during open Q&A time.

  5. Commit to turning in a draft for at least one of the editing deadlines.

Join my newsletter to be the first to know when enrollment opens in January.

Note: I am capping this experience at six people so that each writer gets abundant care, feedback, and space to share.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Six, 90-minute group sessions to air questions, watch me edit β€œlive,” devote time each week to your story, and get those big-picture questions answered.

  • Two, external deadlines (in the middle at the end) to increase motivation and implement feedback.

  • Detailed suggestions on what to prioritize, including:

    • Weekly group feedback (if desired) during class and Q&A time.

    • A 500-word editing letter (sometimes called editorial summary) for one of your writing submissions that reviews elements like plot, character development, stakes, and pacing.

  • A deeper understanding of your unique skills and struggles as a lifelong learner of the craft.

  • Improved confidence and tools for how to move forward with your draft.
